New Guitar Day...kinda. Haha. Picked up this beauty at the Cherry Hill Guitar Center. This thing plays and sounds phenomenal. I actually ordered a set of DiMarzio 36th Anniv. PAF's that I'll be putting in it in about a week or so. Had it for a couple weeks now, but haven't had a chance to post pics, so here it is in all its glory:

STUNNING! I for one (though some may disagree) LOVE the RW neck on a MD finish. Beautiful contrast. You get the nice earthy tones with the all RW neck, and kind of a supernatural mysticism with the MD finish. Like a Earth/Heaven contrast!

It rocks!

Oh yeah, *flares with envy*

Couldn't agree more, Steve. Thanks for the comment, brother.

Which kind of brings me to the neck question. I have NEVER gotten my hands an all RW neck. How does it feel compared to your Koa which is finished mahogany, (I THINK, don't quote me on this.)

Tonal differences?

Great looking JP. The Rosewood neck give it a very rich look that just begs to be played.
Congrats on a great axe!

The neck on my Koa, and the neck on the MD feel totally different feel wise (not meaning the neck carve, but actual feel). The RW neck is nice and slick and just makes you wanna play it constantly, and the neck on my Koa is slick as well, but its painted, so its a totally different feel.

Just beautiful! The neck looks great.

Thanks. GC had this for 3 days, then my tech told me about it and I went and snatched it up. Haha. I couldn't be happier with it. I'm just really excited to hear how the PAF's will sound in it, especially with the RW neck.

The 4th and 5th pics are really excellent examples of the MD dynamic....beautiful axe! Congrats!

Thanks. I have to say that my iPhone actually takes better pictures than my digital camera. And these pics were taken with my iPhone. Pretty cool if ya ask me. Haha.

Phil you are a sick man!

(With sick axes) I think you have the two axes any JP fanatic would put as the "defining" JP's.

Mystic Dream of Course, and well, Koa being the paragon.

Now you must take pictures outside! In sunlight! Varied angles. I'm not quite sure if I believe it exists....... :D

If only I had known it was there before you got it... I wouldn't have bought it because I wouldn't have had the money but I'd love to have played it haha. Amazing guitar.

Is it possible that you could do a demo of it comparing it to your Koa? Or a before and after video when you get the PAFs?

I'll definitely take some outside pics when we get some nice weather (and when I'm off from work) and I'll get some videos posted up too comparing the MD and the Koa.

Sick! Cant go wrong with Mystic Dream! Congrats!

Noble/ Phil Rich: a search able directory of EBMM instruments in stock would do wonders for the members on this forum. If we can see the actual guitars each store has ... well GAS takes over the rest. i.e. as a EBMM lover I would like to be able to see what other Rosewood neck models you have available.
