Music man guitars have been recomended to me by another member - spudmurphy. Not being able to afford an original MM, I tried out the OLP MM1 and immediately fell in love with it. Picking it up from the shop on Tuesday...Does anyone have any experience of the OLP MM1, if so I'd welcome some opinions.:)

Hey OLP, how remiss of my fellow "forumites".

Welcome to the EB forum, I hope you get to enjoy the banter and info shared by the members.

I couldn't believe how how good that OLP was when we tried it out and it should sound sweet through your Vox amp.
It's a shame I'm away working again otherwise we could have gone down the dealers together, picked up the guitar, and shared a bottle of wine (or 2!) down the Bay.

Give J my regards and tell him I want a good deal on the AER!

Welcome to the addiction!

OLP.....you were steered in the right direction. It's just a matter of time before you find the real deal EBMM.....and you will be happier for it.

Welcome and enjoy the ride.

Hay mate. Say "hello" to some new friends and "goodbye" to all our cash!!!!! You are going to want an axis soon.

This is a great place to hang out and find out all about these wonderful guitars.

Take it easy,

Jonny.

Welcome OLPlayer! The Axis is one the finest general purpose electric guitars in production today, and the OLP MM1 is a nice introduction to the form. Congrats!

i have the floyd rose model, and its great. pickups are alright, neck is nice. my Sub scares it away, but i expect that. i can pretend its an axis for now though, and it is my backup :)

Hi there. I have an OLP in seafoam green - bought it basically because I can't resist seafoam (...something to do with Jeff Beck), and I was astonished with how good it was for the price. I have an EVH, AS, and ASS, so can judge side by side.

One piece of advice - I had a Dimarzio Tone Zone lying around (40£ off ebay) and swapped it in for the stock bridge PU. The transformation was staggering. All of a sudden the thing sounded really very, very close to the 'real deal'. I wouldn't argue though that the EBMM is in a different league - classy build and those necks! The PU selector switch also failed after about 3 days but hey, what do you expect at that price?! I think a great axe for the money and will do you proud while saving up some £££ for the big one.

Cheers, Steve

i own a evh and axis also and several olp's. the necks on the olp's are a bit wider and nothing can touch the axis and evh neck( thanks ed and all that worked on that over at ebmm) i do like the stock pickups in the olp's so anyone ever has some they took out give me a buzz. while they cant touch the ebmm pickups i like them. great guitar for the money is a understatement its a great buy.

My mate bought an OLP Tony Levin Bass last week, with a quilted maple top!, and active electronics. Obviously not quite up to EBMM standards but great quality for the money.

Hi Owen
I know what you mean. We just picked up the OLP lunchtime - Translucent Black - looks brownish to me - it's fading already LOL ! ;) But everything considered it's a nice guitar for the money. The quilt looks A1.

Will be posting pickies in the next hour or so.
