I got my first, bonafide, Music Man guitar. A JP6 in Sky Blue. I know with painted guitars, if you've seen one, you've seen them all but this ones mine. :) All the fret wires are protruding out both sides of the neck, but I'll work that out with customer service.

Sky Blue rocks! Is that a matching headstock??
Get that fret sprout filed down and it usually never returns...

Congrats! What a great colour.

Re the frets- that's called "fret sprout". When the fretboard gets too dry it shrinks, leaving the frets behind. If you put the guitar in a properly humidified environment for a while it'll soak up the moisture and expand again.

beej, would using the fret dressing that came with the guitar help? The guitar was located in Texas. I thought it was humid there, but I may be mistaken. I'm told it's an early 2014. Also, is there somewhere to register my guitar as I bought new from an authorized dealer.

Sky Blue is a great color!!! Congrats.

As far as fret sprout - I would let it acclimate to your local climate for a few days and see if it doesn't settle in. One of my guitars does that late every winter and soon as it warms up it resolves.
