After listening to that clip, I definately have to meet you.

That's some absolutely killer walkin'.

And gorgeous neck. :D

Andrew, Jason is avery cool fella. He brought the fretless Bongo when we met, and he SMOKED on that bass.

Next time Im around him, Ill bring a bigger plate. The slice of humble pie last time was huge.

C'mon now....you guys are going to give me an inflated ego. I'm not a guitar player, after all.

I need to post a better clip where I'm laying back in the pocket. I'd hate for you guys to think I have no soul. :D

When you can't find the pocket on that clean necked Bongo please be sure and ping me.

Hey... that pickguard looks familiar

I can't bring myself to do that to mine yet. I'll have to wait and get a new bongo before that happens.

I am seriously considering doing it to mine. That SR5 neck love carries over to my Bongo ownership.

One thing for sure I never worry about resale as once I get one it is mine and the next generations of my family. I don't sell good tools of any kind.

That was my thinking, too. I've already done other stuff to it, and it was the Bongo that made me love Bongos, so it's never leaving.

It feels great.

With various different color ball ends? If so, would be D'Addario Chromes

Yep. Chromes, indeed. I believe these get the Aussie Mark seal of approval for Bongo usage.

Word. Bongo + Chromes = serious thump, as indicated by my facial expression :p

I like flats on a bongo just fine not chromes however.

When I get a face like that is usually beer farts and I get a solo when that happens. :)

Well, I got my fretted Bongo back together tonight after putting gunstock oil on the back of the neck. It feels absolutely amazing.

And, if you've made it this far, here's a quick test I recorded with the Bongo once it was back together.

http://www.mindspring.com/~jshew2/tunes/solo/fatty-01.mp3

I'm not normally that note-y but I wanted to check to see if there were any spots where I fretted out. That's the Bongo into my TrueVoice preamp directly into Cubase with no EQ, effects, etc. I am really really happy with the tone I'm getting right now.

Really nice stuff. Pics and bass lines. Holiy ****e! A Bongo sounds like that? Definitely have to look at adding one of those to the Musicman stable. Dargie Delight SR5 first!

Heh--just because everyone else leaves the stage, it doesn't count as a solo. :D

More like empty the auditorium and I think that qualifies as about as solo as one can get.
