Hey all....well, Koogs directed me here. So let me introduce myself.

1. I play guitar. Been playing for 25+ years. I currently own a Fender Strat (Koogs is probably gonna pull the rest of his hair out...;)) and a Suhr. I run a Mesa Lone Star and have an assortment of pedals.

2. I have known Koogs for about 15 years. Crazy bastid he is.....and he kept telling me about Ernie Ball guitars. Well...he was over last night and brought over his guitar. I believe it is a petruchi model. He yanked out the Fender and put this in my paws....and....MY GOD...what a guitar. Needless to say...Koogs got stuck with the Fender for the rest of the night....hahahaha....gotcha bruther!

So, with that being said....I am saving up some money to get one of these guitars. I will travel through the picture threads and take a gander at what is out there. Koogs said get a BFR (?)....so, I am guessing that is some kind of high end guitar. He tried to explain it to me....then just said take a look at the pics. So, I will look and see.

Hope you can put up with my numerous questions I am sure to have.

By the way...Sterlin Ball (I believe Koogs calls you Pops)...thanks for the Monkey Fez shirt. It was for me.

Hey new guy.

If you still like the feel of the Stratocaster, you may want to give the Silhouette Special a try. Somewhat similar in tone and feel.... only better. ;)

I just looked at the Silo pic in vintage burst on antoher thread....very nice.

Where can I find the specs to the different models?

Also...I see the BFR thread....wonderful looking guitars...but, only two models are available that way? Not all models come in the BFR class?

I apprecaite the help.

Hey welcome VM, you can have some fun in this place, go to the new Music Man website for specs, BFR's come in Luke JP and now AL's I would bet eventually all will but thats just a guess.

I have a BFR Axis Super Sport that only 6 of were made, definetly check out a Silo.

Hey VM, welcome!

Once I went to my way older friend (who is almost 70 years old and he makes incredibly good tube amps). He's been into Fender for his entire life and I brought my JP 2007 LE. After a while he took the guitar into his hands, played few notes and said: "Oh My God, What a guitar! Never seen and never touched such great instrument! You couldn't find anything better, that's what I think".

VM, this is an addiction! After a while since I bought my Petrucci model, I started to dig more and more into entire EBMM models...now I'm trying to save up some money for my very first BFR JP. That's my dream and I'm sure it's not going to stop on that. So be ready to have wallpapers filled with Music Man guitars and better be sure sooner or later you will forget about other guitars :)

best of luck,
Mike

Hi VM welcome.

The Silo will be a good one to try as you "WERE" a Strat man - but you must get to feel an AL neck -you may fall in love with it.

The Albert Lee Owners Club (ALOC) are always looking for new members. ;)

Yeah para, I absolutely second that :D

Hi there VM, as stated above - if you like somewhat "stratish" sounds, go checkout a Silhouette Special. This is what brought me on the EB MusicMan track, and well, the Silo Special is still my favorite, even though my little family has quite enlarged since then... 3 of them Silos - notice anything ?!

Enjoy your stay and well, time you get some balls to shake !
