Hello there,

Apologies for no pic (to come later today).

She's a real beaut.

To be honest, the only reason I picked it up is because I recently bought a Peavy EVH Special (HT, stock) and was absolutely floored by it (PUPs, volume pot, neck profile). So a week later after getting the PV, the Axis (trem-equipped) comes up for sale for a great price. boom, I bought it!!

The Axis arrived yesterday, nice guit, but I must say, I'm initially happier with the neck profile and PUPs on the PV. That being said, the Axis is still fantastic (sounds unreal through my handwired AC15). I really dig the 2 and 4 positions (I'm a country, bluesy-inpsired player: David Grissom and Marc Ford are my heros).

Question on the Axis PUPs - What is the recommended PUP height for maximum clarity? The PUPs on the PV, to my subjective ears, are way more open and clear.

This recent MM purchase has me thinking I 'need' an Albert Lee MM90....

Welcome to the forum. Email Customer Service with your guitar's serial number and your request and they'll get back to you with factory settings for your Axis.

If the current pickups are not doing it for you, might I suggest swapping them out for some HB sized p90s? Not an Albert Lee, but possibly worth consideration.

I love the quack on the 2 and 4, so I think I'll refrain from installing p-90s in this one. I want to make sure I give these stock Axis PUPs a really good chance before buying new PUPs for it.

Cheers for the advice. I'll send 'em an email.

Pickup height not adjustable on Axis & Supersport. You'll have to raise them by adding a plate(shim) underneath at the base. There are threads regarding this. Just do a search. Good luck, and remember the motto here: "the guitar doesn't exist without pictures".
