Just wanted to check in as a newb to the forum. :D (I spend most of my time on talkbass.com)

I currently sport a 'ray 4H and 'ray 4HH and I just placed an order for my first Bongo 4HH (thanks Zombi, you da man) and I can't wait for it to arrive.

I've played/owned a variety of basses (Fender, Lakland, MTD, Ibanez, Spector, Warwick) and I have to say EBMM is "IT" ;)

I have a friend who's a luthier and he sets up my basses. He has always raved about EBMM and is always telling me he can't believe what quality instruments they build. In fact, he's a guitar player and he is looking into buying one of the guitars. I am totally thrilled with everything about my Stingrays, from the tone, design, fit and finish all the way to the "cool" factor. I could go on all day about EBMM but I won't keep going on with things most of you already know

On a side note, I've been considering getting a bass guitar tattoo for a while now and haven't been able to decide on the body shape. I've finally decided on which bass I'll get (when money allows lol) and I'll give you one guess what bass that is :p

Brad... can't believe you let that beauty go. Add a tort. guard and that was my second choice for my BFR Rosewood neck.

Jeff... Welcome to the forum. You will quickly become addicted to Musicman basses and this forum alike. Can't wait to see your Bongo, they are very special instruments. JOSH

I'm just a narrow neck wimp Josh. When my SLO Special Stingray HH showed up I knew that was it. Besides, zombi found a BFR-necked Sterling HH for me!

Hey Brad, the bass is freakin' awesome!!! Thanks again.

Yeah Josh, I've been thinking of a new pickguard but it's hard to find something besides the basic color options in a HH configuration. I was looking at Pickguard Heaven: Pickguards for Every Guitar and they have some cool choices ( black oyster pearl, purple candy crush, etc.) I like to try to find something a little different than standard.

Jeff

Brad posted a pic of the 4HH and here's my 4H:

With your friend, as I am a hobbiest Luthier myself. I work with my local music store on occasion, just can't make a living at it. I came to EBMM last, but have purchased them exclusively as of late. They just were never around in Music Stores in areas where I lived. It wasn't until the on-line buzz and Forums got me to order one..................They have the best factory set-up I have ever seen. You can actually pull one out of the platic bag, tune it (barely), and jam. Every other bass I have gotten new gets a complete work over before I would play it. I pull the strings, polish the frets (sometimes level them), remove any sharp edges on the frets, oil the fretboard, install new strings, adjust the trussrod, adjust the bridge (saddle height and innotation).................Then I can finally get down to business! EBMM is much more "Plug and Play".................Although, I still love on them a little first for my prefered set-up, and a little polish to caress them gently! :)

Thanks for hitting me up and for joining! Funny thing about this GC clearance, I'm seeing several new faces pop up around here as of late! The more the merrier! And congrats on the score, it left this morning!

Welcome aboard!!!! I too spent a lot of time on TB. It was reading the post there that helped me decide on an EBMM for a new bass after many years. I wanted high quality, preferred made in the USA, something that played well, had good customer support and all the sounds you could ask for. Time after time fellow TBer's would say Music Man. It was certainly a name I was well aware of, just hadn't seen many in my area. I didn't take long and I had one on order!!!!! It is without doubt the finest instrument I have ever owned! This forum is awesome and is a gift from BP, I never pass a day without checking here. Glad to have you with us! :)
