Hello there,
Big fan of JP, and have been looking for an axe that suits my playing style for quite a while now. I've looked through mostly Gibson Les Paul (is the G word allowed here? lol...), the 1957 reissue Goldtop, Customs (I like big fat necks) etc. I love the feeling of Les Pauls all along, their fat necks are just lovely to play. Nevertheless, I've decided on the EBMM JP, and was planning to go to my local dealer to order one, but haven't really decided on the color. It's either mystic dream, or graphite pearl.
But after watching DT's SCORE, and seeing that beautiful flamed top, my jaw dropped ... And those soapbars ...
It's obvious what color I wanted, so I checked out EBMM's site, nothing. Then I came here, there're talk of JP's prototype guitar, and hopefully the flamed top. I saw the prototype threads, and a few others here and there, are there any more info on JP's Lamborghini?

Cheers,
JR

Thanks for the welcome Karlsson-75...
Actually, I wanted a EBMM JP off the rack there, I wanted one before my band's competition in NOV, but now I guess I have to wait...

Mr. Ball himself?

Of course :D

I've tried out the basic JP model a few times (just to make sure... lol...), and I must say that's the best playing guitar I've ever played

Really hope to see the 20th JP ASAP!!!

Just to add to where I'm from...
I'm from Malaysia, and the EBMM dealer here... well, I'm lost for words though...
I asked them to quote me a price on a fully loaded JP, and the price I got was approx US$5,394...
So, I had to order (well, till the 20th JP comes around) mine from Singapore, which had a reasonable price of US$2,360 for the exact same model, which is a 6-string piezo equipped mystic dream...
And from people from the same trade, they (the over-priced shop) are not just covering their costs... I really wish that they would lower their price to attract more guitarists/bassists to EBMM fantastic line of instuments, as the huge asking price deters fans of EBMM to get one...

There's nothing new to report about the JP prototypes. JP made a post on his website that seemed to indicate that a final version was coming soon. Big Poppa, Sterling Ball, told us that they were not very close to finalizing the updated JP guitar or a deluxe JP guitar--whatever it will be. All we know is that the guitar thus far features the D-Sonic pickup and the mahogany tone block concept from the 20th Anniversary Silhouette. That's all we know.

You may have seen this thread: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17599&highlight=petrucci+update

You came to the right place, though. You'll see that guitar here before anyone else in the general public will see it. You may even see it before JP sees the final product.

Welcome fella, I had that same response when I first spoke to the man!

I know it must look a bit of an ambush but as a solid G!Bson player for over 8 years, this is where it's at now - Customer service that kicks ass, and guitars that make you wanna keep buying more...

My next target is a 7-string though :D

Is there a story behind the white sparkle color? Why was it discountinued? It was such a beautiful color...

Yeah! Glad I made the transition! (in the near future hopefulle! lol...)

I've heard stories on EBMM's customer service. It's really nice the EBMM makes the effort to satisfy every customer's need. But then again, I'm really far from the states, is there any possible I'm able to enjoy's EBMM's excellent customer service?

A strange feeling. You get one and then you want ' em all.:)

Welcome Rossie! I've only been a proud EBMM owner for a week or so myself, and I'm already thinking about what my next one's gonna be. :D
