He uses the red ones though. The red ones feel and sound different from the black ones to me. :)

Eric Johnson uses the red ones too. ;)

the red ones slip out of my fingers easier... i don't know why? the black ones seem a bit grippier to me. something about the texture?

either way, totally awesome pick. nothing comes close.

Sooooooooo... The rumour of the JAZZ III color is true!

I heard that the black one is harder... :D

I didn't know this until my local dealer ordered the wrong size for me, there're XL JAZZ IIIs, same thickness, but as big as the stubby.

The red Jazz III's are noticebly softer.

Not sure about the slicker thing though.

One weird thing for me about the black ones is I have to hold them with only one side up. I have to have the 'JD' down and the little print under my thumb.

I guess I'm a little neurotic. :)

I love the Jazz IIIs as well. Switched to them this past summer. Unfortunately, the skin on my thumb/finger has been peeling like crazy during the same time frame. I'm switching to old picks to see if I'm allergic to the plastic or something ... it's nuts.

^^^ that's something i've never heard of. but i'm sure it's totally possible.

i wear my jazz 3's out fairly quickly... they don't look different, but there is something about a fresh pick that tightens my attack significantly.

lol! I'm exactly the same but the other way around. I love Jazz IIIs but I can only use them with the Jim Dunlop facing my thumb.
