I just got a JP6, but it's impossible to tune the B string without the string popping out whenever it gets close to pitch, no matter how tight i tighten the wheel. I noticed that the tuning head and wheel for the B string are able to be wiggled, but none of the other tuners have any play. I assume this movement and the inability to retain the string are related, so is there any way to fix this?

Hm, i left a longer end on the string this time and after a few slips it seemed to catch and tune right, so i dunno what the deal is, i'll have to see how it holds up.
Next question: There's 2 holes in the trem cavity roughly midway along the springs; why are these there? They look a little rough, just wanted to make sure they were supposed to be there.

Nathan,

Sometimes, when you tighten the locking wheel, if you don't screw it in perfectly at the right angle, it can seem that it's tightend all the way, but it's not. Loosen it and then tighten it again. You can "feel" when it's tightening properly.
