Well I just re-upped my membership on the library and have 6 DVDs to pick out and will definitely grab this one. I really enjoy the technique DVDs the best, like your Guitar Giants files as I was working on that Yngwie style piece you last did, and enjoy the way you approach and breakdown a players style and then cop your licks, as it is not so obvious lol. I can remember when licklibrary first started before any video content and you guys used to do the Style Profiles and then you could print the tab, and record the track and backing track. I still have most of those really old pieces filed away especially the one you did on Hendrix that had a Hendrix type rhythm and then solo, and ones on the Blues Scale and the major Pentatonic that were yours. Also some great pieces by Richard Barret in the style of Page and Gary Moore, I still pull these pieces out occasionally as the playing on them is way advanced and not the type of licks and melodies you would expect from a Blues ,Dorian or Major scale. Also I studied that Hendrix piece a long time as I really got a lot out of it, especially how the solo worked over the changes as their was a great progression you came up with that went E7#9 with a riff to C7#9 with a riff then to a chorus of Asus4-Csus2-D/A-G/D-D/A-G/D-D/A-D/F# -E7#9-A6-C-D5-D/F# and ended with a Bsus4. I have had this down for years but I think this would be a great piece to do again for a DVD for others to study, I just wrote it out as I wanted you to remember it and the solo just kicked a## on it.

This is what you have continued with the Guitar Giants profile DVDs and what I try to take away from them is why this works over that, and since I have really been getting into the Harmonic Minor I would love to see more pieces in this vein as though I have been playing a longtime I am totally self taught, and I like the HM and have been working on uses for it than just over the dominant 7th chord in a minor progression.

Great spread in Guitar and Bass magazines Collectors article and I was seriously impressed with your axes. You have a lot of EBMM little jewels that you have never broke out on the library with that are wicked.I also liked the advise of just go for it and let it fly by the seat of your pants attitude. I wish you the best and hope you land more gigs like the Brian May one, as you are a great player and a really righteous guy.

I pre-ordered before it was released since my subscription was up for renewal. Got it around about 2 weeks ago. Drop Dead Legs was definitely a surprise. Really a great DVD. Now if I could just get my fingers to cooperate.

Great stuff Jamie.

thanks,
fred

Jamie,

How the heck did you get that sweet early VH tone out of your Blackstar HT5? I got the DVD on order but please give me a hint, that tone is killer! I've been trying like heck to get my HT5 to produce that sound, is yours stock tubes? Now I can see if I've been doing Beautiful Girls right(or wrong) for the last 30 years....

For you guys who have never checked out licklibrary, I would fly right over. It does not matter what level you are at with your playing as you cant help but learn a technique, or some song you are having trouble with. They also have a killer group of players and teachers over their that are as talented as they come.

Yes Just an HT5 head, running into a 4x12 Blackstar cab, which is out of shot..I use the Line 6 delay and modulation rack units when needed, but other than that its the crunch of the HT5 and my EBMM guitars!! Jamie
