Here's a partial quote from the news section re: the new Limited Ed:

"The Buttercream instruments will also come with matching cream neckdots and side position markers, along with tortoise shell pickguards (on those instruments with pickguards)."

Now I have a question. How does this option work on the Petrucci model JP inlays? Will the JP inlays be cream inlays or to get the cream inlays do you have to order the model with dot inlays?

Good question. I would guess it would have to be the dot inlays, but I could be wrong. I will find out when everybody gets back from the show.

I am betting dots as Mingus said based on the Bongo getting dots instead of the bongo inlays.....

It would be nice if the shields came in the buttercream color along with the body....just don't think it is going to happen though. :(

To be honest, I think the buttercream looks great, but I've never been keen on the shield inlays - I've always thought they look a bit cheap on the JP models (although I love the guitars). I reckon the buttercream Jp would look amazing

The point was that the shields might not be there on the BC Jp.

Andrew

I don't know why not...a signature model is a signature model. Even if they offer it with a limited edition color, the options for the guitar should remain the same.

As always, open for correction...

On the Limited JP's if its dots, they will be cream color. The inlays will be the same as on regular production guitars.

Darn...I hate being right. It would have been cool to see the shields in the buttercream....with the crayola crayon fix! ;)
