Hi everyone, new here and new to Music Man guitars. I just purchased my first ever Music Man. I recently purchased a used Music Man Premier Dealer Network Stingray Starry Night. Love the guitar and it’s in mint condition except for a couple things. Plus I have a question or two.

So the metal control plate where the volume/tone knobs and the metal cover plate on the bridge have some slight playing scratches. Nothing deep deep or heavy but enough to annoy me lol. Am I able to purchase these two metal plates when I call MM Monday?

Lastly I know the back of the neck is unfinished of course and I can see what appears to be the back of the headstock is satin finish but I’m unsure if the front of the headstock is satin finished or if it’s unfinished like the back of the neck? And if headstock front is unfinished should I do the cleaning and treatment that is recommended like for the neck?

Thanks

The back of the neck is not "unfinished", but it was finished with gunstock oil and wax. The entire headstock is finished with satin up to around where the nut is. On older EBMM guitars you can usually see clearly where this transition happens as the oiled / waxed portion of the neck darkens a bit over time.

Congrats on your new Stingray! You should definitely be able to order those metal plates from Music Man, and for the headstock, it’s best to check with them directly to see how to care for it.
