Hello, a question to Morse-experts:

Since when does the old Morse-model have the new neck-shape? I read in some posts, that this happened a bit before the Y2D came out somewhen late 2005 (?)

The background for my question ist, that I have a old Morse (dob 2005-01-03) and want to know, what shape the neck has. I have never played another Morse, nor a Y2D, so I can´t say.

Plus: can anybody describe the difference for someone like me, who never had both in hands?
describe how it feels?

a big THANKS for every answer

Wen they designed the Y2D they digitized the neck from Steve's #1 guitar, which was 20 years old and had 8 re-frets, and based the new profile on that.

They then decided to put the new "worn in" profile on the standard Morse line as well. So the new neck profile on the original body style has only been out 1-2 years or so.

Someone else may have exact dates.

I have both and you can tell the difference for sure, the older neck just has a little more meat to it. I do enjoy the Y2D one though...

When I first touched the neck in the store, I thought: "pretty much wood, not thin."

But it was perfect in my hands. While playing I never thought, it is too thick, just right.
