Hey folks, first post here so hi!!:D Being a strat and tele guy for years, recently I've be diggin the EBs...escpecially the Axis. Anyway, last week I came across an OLP Axis copy forsale locally and it was the first time I've ever heard of them. Anyway after researching them I tried it out and was blown away how great this cheap guitar was. After a little TLC and a set up, it plays amazing...especially love the neck on it.

Anyway, I noticed the nut is cut too big on the G and B strings and somewhat on the high E and when played open, they suffer from clarity. So I checked Graph Tech site for their tusq nuts and the string spacing on theirs is wider than what's on my OLP.
The E to E on my OLP is 1.305 and the Graph Tech ones are 1.38. Their site recommends not going over on the E to E spacing. I don't know if they custom cut them and cutting my own is out of the question for sure.
Anyone replace the nut on their OLP and what did you use? Looking for thoughts on going over on the E to E spacing too.

Hey for those replacing their nut or looking into it, I ordered a Graph Tech XL 5010. I was as close to the orginal nut and when I got it a few days ago, I sanded it a bit to bring it to the orginal nuts specs and installed it. The XL is penetrated with Teflon and stays slick and the tuning stability has been awesome.
