Greetings.I see that EB is now producing new guitars with compensated nuts. Are these available to the general public, are they an easy fit for old style nut Musicman guitars? Do they make a big difference in the tuning stability?tx.

They're not available individually .... you have to buy a new MM to get them.

(Also they're larger than the old nut so you would need to widen the nut slot to get one in, if you had one.)

Hey Alf, good to see you here and welcome! Our new patented compensted nuts really do stabilize the intonation better up and down the neck. Unfortunately, becuase of the way they are cut into the neck, retrofits are not possible without replacing the entire neck.

Saw an advert for Earvana that does compensated tuning systems but don't know if they sell or just customize individually or how compatable they are w/ EBMM. Anyone looked into this company?

I have installed a few on various instruments. Earvana has a few diff styles for specific guitars. They sell them individualy and you would need to have it installed or install it your self.
Just check the Earvana website for specific applications.

Hey Colin, just did a search as you suggested and don't know how I missed that thread back in January of this year about court battles between EBMM and Earvana.

BP, is this still in court or was there a settlement?

I have an Earvanna nut retrofitted to a non EB guitar.
It's not the right place to talk about it here on the forum because of the court action but if you want to PM me I'll tell you my experience with it.

I ordered it from Pete before the JP so it should be finished in early to mid August. The JP is due in late August. I believe I ordered in May.

I can't wait and will post pics when they come in as I now have a digital camera. How about some sending some good vibes my way so I can get it sooner!!!!LOl
