It's not the pre '84 ray or the first year EBMM ray that i have been looking for but it was a good deal and I couldn't pass it up.

My new '80 Sabre! It needs some work and its not 100% original but it is oozing with vintage vibe. The neck, fingerboard and body are all checking beautifully.

What isn't original on it?

Congrats on the red headed stepchild.

Great looking Sabre man. Yeah, what isn't 100% about it? Looks all there to me. Well, except for the missing strap buttons! ;)

Nothing wrong with the way you stumbled across it. That's how I got my '80 Sabre way back when... I drove to Portland to check out a couple of vintage Ray "leads" which turned out to be basketcases, only to find my Sabre in the last shop I visited.

Brandt,

Looks like it's got a lot of mojo. So how much does that bad boy weigh?

Not 100% sure, id say on the plus side of 9lbs

You to man, did you get my response about the Roasted Neck??? Give me a call.

What isn't original on it?

Strap buttons, case, and g string saddle. plus it has an issue with the 3 way toggle which will need to be replaced.

Thanks guys! I'm digging it as my first Vintage Music Man.
