New pickups on Reflex/25th anniversary?

Hi. I have recently discovered a pickup set that sounds really great in another guitar of mine and I want to try it out in the Reflex. Before I purchase the pickups though, has anyone done a successful pickup swap in the Reflex or 25th? The pickups I want to try are not Dimarzios and I want to make certain they will work with those rings prior to spending the cash.

Thanks,

Jason

I have no idea tbh. I'd call customer service. I did read that Blues Saraceno tried some Seymour duncans in one of his reflexes. I'd also make sure that the process is reversible too.

As long as the pickups have similar brackets with the same screw size they will work just fine with the rings. You just attach the pickup to the ring from the bottom side...basically the opposite as if you were mounting the pickup directly into the body. hope that helps.

I think that makes sense I think... So the pickup mounts to the ring, then the three screws actually move the ring, as opposed to the pickup?

I suppose any 4 conductor pickup will work for the same wiring. I can't wait to try it!

Yea, it's actually the pickup ring that mounts into the body of the guitar. Same thing on the 20th Silo! That's how I know :D. I changed the pups on that one few times already. They were all DiMarzios, but pretty much all pickups are made the same way to be mounted in any guitar.

Just be careful when you remove the rings, each screw has it's own individual spring and they tend to 'pop out'. I love my DiMarzios. I wouldn't change anything.
