Found this beauty at a local L&M...heck of a nice bass. Its my first non SUB EBMM! Pretty stoked!

However that PG/Finish option just doesn't work for me...any suggestions? There is a sparkle/metalic nature to the finish that was hard to photo that makes me shy away from tort or black...

either way its pretty darn nice.

Maybe the previous owner was a BIG Boise State Broncos fan???? (Florida Gators??? Who ELSE features Royal Blue and Orange??? USED to be DENVER Broncos, too....)

That's my Bongo, and the PG is a Cream Pearl from Jeannie Pickguards.

I don't think it'd work on a blue pearl bass all that well. It's a warm color so it works better with reds/yellows/golds/etc.

Blue is a "cool" color, so if pearl is the goal then a whiter pearl is the way to go.

But, personal preference... I call Abalone or maybe Moonstone.

Abalone on BP looks really nice. I've seen it in person and it was sweet.

Here's a rule of thumb I recently concocted.... having a pickguard that contrasts with your bass is a good thing if you want to look good on stage. I had a black PG on that red Bongo and I like the look a lot, but then I saw gig video and I found that I was pretty much invisible because everything about me was dark. My DG Bongo (a light, warm color) has a tort (dark, warm color), though.

well I ordered a black one after thinking about what oli said....should look pretty boss

I also sent off the orange swirl in trade to mmbassplayer for a gold swirl so I will check that out as well...

I think the original pick guard looks like a brain...maybe that's just me...good luck with new one!
