New Rig in the House!!! (PICS)

Hi everybody!

I spent the day at Bass Central today and came home with a brand-spankin' new SVT4 Pro and an Eden D410 XST cab (1000w @ 8 ohm).

I just set it up in the living room., and I am a very happy man.

Very happy. :p

Thanks again to all on the board for their helpful advice last week...I appreciated all of your learned comments.

Hey Nick - let me know how the SVT-4 PRO works for you, since that is my first choice for my amp head purchase next year.

Thanks guys...it sure is alot nicer than it's predecessor, that's for sure! I've had it up to about half on the master, flat eq and it is like a crystal-clear musical earthquake. Push up the bass on the Sterling and it just gets deeper, but just as clear. When I start pushing up the bass on the amp, I start scaring myself!!!

shamus63: I'll try to give you a more detailed review when I have had a little more time to play with it. Right now, it's all smiles and roses! They did give me a choice of a used 4 Pro (about 6 years old, in VG condition) for about $300 less, but I really felt that, for purchase of this magnitude, that the 5 year warranty and new tubes were worth it...

If you are looking for pro-level stuff, probably so...not so sure what they have over your way, but there is nothing like it over on my coast.

They have great stuff, and they are very helpful and knowlegable...store is not huge...two store-fronts in a typical strip mall. One side is the showroom and the other is packed to the gills with inventory....EBMM's everywhere!

The one time I've been there, the guys as BC were incredibly nice, funny, and helpful. They let me try out all the amps I was interested in and although I ended up buying one used, I'll certainly be sending some future business their way. While I was looking for an amp, I also got to try out some KILLER basses that I would never find at a local Sam Ash or Guitar Center. They were a pleasure to deal with and it goes without saying how great their inventory is. Especially if you have an upcoming purchase in mind, I'd go there and spend an hour or two just trying out what you're interested in. I wish I was closer and could go there more often, but even a two-hour drive makes it one of those once or twice a year trips.

Hell, if I had known about BC the two times I was in Miami, I would have made the drive! Both times!

awesome rig man...always wanted something from the XST range

ppl say the 410XST sounds 'flat' - can you still get a nice tube sound out of it?

I think it sounds very warm...good lows and plenty of high end sizzle. I tested it versus an SWR Goliath III cab, and I think had better low end response and less break up (i.e. none) at higher volumes. Very clear but warm, not sterile.
