Hi folks.
As above-need new saddles for MM Luke tremolo.Mine are worn out and I am willing to replace them-the string breakage at the saddles is enormous-10 strings in 3 gigs!!!
I don`t play death metal, use rather thin pick (0.73 mm) and for last 3 years i broke like 3-4...Don`t have enough time to polish/clean the saddles:mad:
I heard some reviews of Graphtech String Savers-are they worth a try?Anything else?
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards

The vintage saddles are great never experience a string breakage for years (EB String and stock saddles, using 1mm pick and I usually bend 3 semi ton). I think you should replace yours for a set of new one. Contact your local reseller and go for it :)

The problem is,besides string breakage, that I don`t like the feel of those bent saddles when placing the hand on the bridge.I`ll propably go for Graphtech Ferraglides, but still want to hear what other guys will come with.

I have used them on other guitars and I have had good luck with them. I did feel they took a little bit of sustain away but over all good things!

Just replace them with the solid block ones that are used on the Axis SS bridges. I've done that on all the vintage trem EBMMs that I've had. They feel much smoother and sound fatter to me. You Can get them directly from EBMM.

Thanks for the advice,guys.
I`ll propably go for the ones Roubster mentioned-didn`t have an idea that ASS tremolo saddles are different...
As for now the problem is solved-cleaning did the job-survived yesterdays gig without breaking the string! :)Yeehaw!!! ;)

You do not say if it is the same string that keeps breaking ,say like the high E string or if it is a mixture of strings. If it is one string more than likely there is a bur in the saddle that is not hard to correct. On the other hand of not liking the vintage saddles I also am not crazy for them and would rather have block saddles. This was an issue I feel they went the wrong way on with the AL HH which I feel should have block saddles and when I ordered mine it was during the RM/BS run and the only way I could get block saddles was if I ordered it with a Piezo which I did not want on it as I did not want three knobs, but found that kind of odd.

@Spud-That`s a nice find, looks like good stuff.I`ve used "other company" fret polishing cloth for cleaning my saddles-works perfect-yet another gig and all the strings are fine:)

@Stray-well,mixture of strings, random situation. After the cleaning everything is smooth and fine-no issues at all, finally.
Have spent some good money on strings cuz I was to lazy to remove bur...;)
And for your bent-solid-piezo-3 knobs thing-yes,this is kind of odd,but pretty smart at the moment-one day you`ll discover the piezo wonderland for sure.
Cheers.

Glad that worked out.

For the record ... I'm much more a fan of the vintage saddles. I know lots of guys prefer the block saddles, but to me they really lack the "zing" of the the bent ones, so I always put those on instead.
