I've got the family here this weekend for early Christmas celebrations (we're spending Christmas interstate with my outlaws), so haven't had a chance to plug it in yet, hopefully tomorrow.

I'm not sure that the Octa-Bass is for me, so the production version of this pedal might just be a Grunt with a drive and master control.

Let us all no how you get on with that, got issues with the octave pedal that im useing at present an on the look out for somthing diffrent, fair play to you mate!
 
Yes, do tell. I am currently using an EBS Octaver pedal, but one with a gritty drive sounds interesting.
 
OK, I've had a play with this one now. As my review of the standalone Octa-Bass points out, the octave section is octave-up only, and it removes the original signal - this is something I can't use in my bands.

I do love the Grunt, and have gigged with it twice now, as a replacement for a VT Bass. This "aussie mark" version has a variable "grunt" control as well as drive and master contorls, whereas the standard Grunt only has a 2 position switch with two preset "grunt" settings. So, this one is a winner, having the ability to control all the parameters. As I alluded in a post above, I think a 3 knob Grunt will be my "signature" pedal for a production model. since the octave-up is something I don't have any use for.

That sounds quite inteserting. And I agree, there's hardly any use for one octave up...
