Hi all,

Some of you may remember that i posted some time back about waiting for my music man silhouette. It was supposed to be in Teal Pearl with a Moonstone pickguard. But due to some screw ups, the dealer here got my guitar wrong. Well, heres the long story.

The dealer here wasn't too customer service oriented. I had to call them up to have them tell me about the delay. They didn't even bother informing me. The delay was for another 1 and half months more! The worst news was that they got the colour and pickguard of my guitar wrong. Boy, was i mad. I told them i was taking every cent back if i didn't like what i saw. The boss of the shop called me a few days later, to tell me my guitar has been shipped and would be here in a few days.

So, yesterday i went down to try it out and to look at my new 'mysterious' silhouette. It turned out to be in candy red finish with a matching headstock and black pearl pickguard. I thought it looked really nice. The candy red actually sparkles. I remember it looking quite dead in the "build an instrument" picuture. But i decided to go home and sleep it over and think about it. Turned out...i couldn't stop thinking about the silhoutte and still liked it very much in its "new" colour.

Hence, i am going down later to pick it up! My very first music man guitar! Will post pics once i manage to loan a digital cam from one of my friends.

(and thanks for reading the long post)

NanoShred,

Sorry to hear that your dealer didn't get things quite right. But you WILL have an EBMM Silhouette, and that is no small prize!

Now you can begin planning your 2nd EBMM purchase, which will be a Silhouette i the color that you originally wanted!

Congratulations and enjoy that guitar!

For me guitar looks are secondary, it's all about the feel...and I know, regardless of it's colour, that Silo will feel incredible (remember back to your first warm....ooops)

I'm shallow I guess! It has to look good too! Like a car, I want to be drawn to it.
Sure I'll want to play it, but it's nice to be drooling at the sight of your axe.
The good thing is that Ernie Ball doesn't have any bad colours!

Hi guys,
I bought it!! But i went through some work to get it. The bank limits me to use my card only at 2000 singapore dollars per charge. My guitar cost 2300! so i had to pay 2000 today and come back tomorrow for the guitar with the other 300. I couldn't wait anymore...not another day. So, i walked all the way to the bank that was some distance away and walked back with the money drawn. Finally, the guitar was mine. btw 2300 singapore dollars is about 1399 usd.

Have been playing it the whole day since i got it. I changed the strap buttons to strap locks and the knobs to metal ones, like the luke has.

The guitar just sounds amazing. I am a big gilbert fan and this guitar nails his lead and rhythm tones like a mofo. The guitar sounds like everything i have wanted. The power of my ibanez, cleans of my strat and so much clarity can be heard from the notes.

Neck is superbly made....i really have not played a better neck, the ibanez rg prestige neck really cannot beat this.i don't think i can go back to my ibanez's neck anymore.

Set up out of the box was excellent, no further set up was required. Thumbs up to the guy that did the set up for the guitar. As usual the quality was excellent. Not a single fault with this guitar.

Big thanks to ernie ball for making such a wonderfully crafted instrument that sounds amazing. My friend bought a luke together with me and *ahem* i think it could be my next purchase.

(pics will be up once my friend loans me his digicam)

Congrats on your new guitar - my replacement Silo Special was delivered to my home address on Wednesday - my brother has opened it to make sure all is well and reckons its the best Music Man neck he's played - unfortunately, I won't get to find out until next May...

Woah! Nanoshred, you got a good deal on that guitar - did they lower the price because of the screw up with the finish? It's a pretty big leap from Teal Pearl to Candy Apple Red, but I'm glad you're happy with the guitar... I used to play Ibanez too, and you're right, once you've played on an EBMM neck, it's impossible to go back... Congrats on your new axe!

Yeah they could have lowered the price cause of the screw up. I was on the verge of exploding when they delivered both news to me. But, all is well now. How much does a new silhouette sell for in the u.s.a ?

Congrats.
If it sparkles, could it be Radience Red, rather than candy red.
What color Luke did your friend get?

He got his luke in white with matching headstock. It looks really killer too. Tried it out at his place through his 5150. Sounds awesome.
