I want to order in a new stingray but I want a limited edition Sparkle colored one. Preferably the Blue Sparkle (I don't know the exact name for it). Does anybody know how I would go about getting this ordered in. Should I do it myself or through a music store? I am prepared to wait however long it takes.

Im afraid sparkle finishes have been discontinued. So you wont be able to order one. You might want to try looking in music stores for one, although as I understand it, they're not a common thing to come by, at least not in the UK.

Ya I live in Canada and I have been looking for a super long time. A guy in a band called MXPX has like 7 or 8 of them. I want one so bad.

Anybody else know if they can be specially ordered?

Nope, if you go through a dealer they'll go through a distributor who will go to EB, and EB wont be making any more sparkles. Been alot of discussions about the sparkle basses in the past, do a search to see what I mean. If I were you i'd try ebay, one might come up.

have you or anybody you know ever ordered from that site? Those prices are a lot cheaper....even with the conversion rate. Do you know if you get what is shown?

Call Bass Central. They are stand-up guys and many of us have done business with them. I've bought 3 or 4 basses from them myself.

I have made purchases from Bass Central. They are simply great. Great prices, excellent service, and so on.

I think others here can vouch for Bass Central. Theres a reason theyre the #1 Ernie Ball MusicMan dealer in the US.

All well and good, but they aren't supposed to ship outside the U.S.

Gram. I have a Glacier Blue Sparkle/Maple/Matching Headstock just like Mike Hererra's back up. He only has 2 main sparkle ones that he uses now, but he owns quite a few others. I might be wanting to part with it soon, to make way for a dual pup ray, let me know if you'd be interested.

Does that apply to just new basses, or used ones as well?

If a U.S. dealer sells new EB basses (and I'm guessing from your statement they can't ship a new EB bass outside the U.S.), would they be able to ship a used EB bass outside the U.S.?

just curious....

Used shouldn't be a problem. Just as a non-Ernie Ball dealer can sell a used Ernie Ball instrument, an Ernie Ball dealer can sell a used bass overseas.

I would imagine any contract only covers any instruments bought at dealer cost from Ernie Ball under the agreement.

This is your best bet right here if you are looking for a Sparkle Ray.

I totally see Patrick with a Radiance Red dual bucker Ray. That's as close to sparkle that you're likely to find on a new bass. And, I think we all know how he feels about sparkles. :D

The thought of a Radiance Red dual bucker Ray just made me wet myself. :(

Actually as far as a dual bucker, I was thinking something more traditional, maybe natural/maple/black pickguard with h/sc pickups. Go figure.

Or I knew someone who could be of assistance in helping you purchase a brand new Silver Sparkle/maple Stingray or Gremlin Green Sparkle/maple Sterling.

the which is not as scary as the great white shark but still,
