holy crap.
So about three days ago my old ernie ball 2 inch strap vanished off the face of the earth. so i went to go buy a new strap today, and was shopping around. well the first one i actually tried out because it didnt cost 75 bucks, and didn have an anoying look was the planet waves padded comfort strap. lets just say that this makes the 9 pundh behemith of a bass feel like nothing, i recomend to all of you all to try it, and it only cost me 35 bucks for the strap and new straplock buttons.

I like Levy's.

You can get a good wide one (M4GF), padded, made of really nice leather, for $39.

I have a Levy's but it wasn't short enough so my mom had to shorten it up surgically. Oddly enough, i've been looking for a good leather strap that can hold 'em up high. If anyone can help me on that, let me know. Thanks

You must need it REALLY REALLY high. Were you using the second slot on the tailpiece, or the end slot? With mine set as short as it goes in the "ladder" and using the upper slot, it's WAY too short, even for me...and I'm just this side of being a danged midget (I'm 5'7" if I'm lucky).

Haha. We're the same height. I like 'em kind of high. Mine's working fine right now but i'd like it a little higher.

Italia Straps!

I wear my bass right around the belt-line - on the low side of high. I find a wider strap to be the key to comfort.

Two months ago I bought a 4" leather strap from Italia Straps that I love. And it is sure to last me a lifetime! :)

My only issue was the leather was so thick I needed a hollow-punch to create a larger hole to fit the post of Schaller strap-locks. The straps are great quality and reasonably priced. Check them out...

I've saved Italia Straps as a favorite, and will be placing my order after I get back from NYC.

How high?
So high you could take a bite out of the upper horn?
So high you could play and scratch your right ear at the same time?
So high your supersonic left hand gets cooling from the altitude?
So high your mouth is hidden from the audience?

So high your face gets numb?

Oh, wait. My bad.
