My Ray5 came in today.
I originally sampled a black one and went back the following weekend to buy it. When I went back the black one was gone so I ordered this one with a Walnut Satin finish. Before I went I was looking online and liked this color better anyway so it worked out good.
I bought this bass to use as a house bass at church so I could let some of the start-up bassists play on it without having to worry about messing up one of my high-end basses. I can leave it there on loan for anyone to use under minimal supervision. It sounds good as is but I'll probably try some cobalts on it after I get things going.

I was looking at that exact bass, but decided to go another direction. Nothing wrong with it, and for the money it's pretty impressive. I like that finish too.

I'm not much for low-end basses but this one is perfect for the application and carries good enough sound and playability to make it worth the effort.

I (a guitar player mainly) have the same one, and love it! I wanted something to record with, or have in the music room for other people to jam on. It's funny, a coupla guys have stopped bringing their own basses over now, they just play this one!

Still need to get the volume pot replaced, to get a smoother and more consistent volume roll....but otherwise, it's great!

I've had it for 4+ months and haven't changed the strings or the batteries. I actually have been keeping it plugged in, and it doesn't seem to drain the battery. Is that normal?

I put Cobalts on this baby on Friday. Took it to our Musician's Fellowship on Saturday and it sounds and plays really good. I need to work out the hot preamp issue but with the -10db pad on the amp and dropping the p/u a little it's getting pretty smooth.
