Hey Everyone,

I am new to the forum and EBMM guitars. I am in the market for a new guitar and have my heart set on getting a EBMM JPX model. There is a reputable online guitar shop that has a brand new one in stock and ready to ship. I have been lurking here and reading everyone's thoughts and experiences with these guitars. I am unable to try out a JP model because my local music stores and Guitar Center do not carry high end guitars. I have looked into the store's policy for returns and they have a 48hr keep it or return it policy. If you don't like it, you have to ship it on your dime though...

What turned me on to the EBMM guitars is the quality and craftsmanship of the instruments.

Am I setting myself up for disaster by purchasing a guitar online that I have never played?

Thanks!

It sounds like you've done your research, and as long as you feel that the JPX specs will work for you, I would have no hesitation.

I used to say that I would never buy a guitar without playing it first, but after some time off from playing all together (having tried and sold a handful of other brands and styles in my teens and early twenties), I was finally ready to pick it up again - and in a position to treat myself to something better. I remembered how the first JP model had felt when I played one at Guitar Center as a teenager, and knew the reputation and following that the brand has, so I ordered a new one and was not disappointed at all when it arrived.

Now my problem is trying to hold back from buying more of them!

Absolutely not.

My town doesn't carry them either, I have 8 right now and bought all of them sight unseen, and not one of them had any issues.

If it's new, I really don't think you would have any issues buying an EBMM guitar over the internet. I bought my first Silhouette Special on-line without ever playing one before... or even seeing it in person. No regrets at all, great guitar!

You can buy a used one on line at GC and they will ship it to the store and if you decide you don't want it you do not have to take it. That's how I got my 2014 JP6. I would, and I will be purchasing more EBMM guitars and they will be on line both new and used, with no worries, they are astounding instruments that clearly bring out the best in my playing and stage presence / simply unbelievable that is..... Until you play one!

Good luck in your decision !!
