Can someone give me an idea of what my pre EB Sting Ray Bass is really worth? The serial number is B022706. Based on the data base of pre EB Sting Ray SNs it would appear to have been manufactured around 1983. It is natural finish with a maple neck. The neck has what I like to refer to as a surf board type "stringer" running down the length of the back of the neck. This Sting Ray is essentiall identical to the one shown on the home page of the bass website. I've had this instrument for many years and believe I bought it in the early 80's used. The neck is great on this instrument. It remains my most often used bass for gigs out of the three basses I presently own.

Welcome! I can't venture a guess at the value... but also would love to see any pictures you might have.

Hi all....what is the BEST way to post or share photos on this website? I noticed if I want to attach a photo or .jpg file to my reply I am limited by this website to only 100KBs of space. This is very small for the purpose of attaching photos. One alternative is that I can share a photo album, for example on Photoworks or Snapfish of the bass pictures with anyone providing a valid email address. Any suggestions? Thanks Artie

Then put the "Direct Link" into the box that pops up when you click the picture icon for the forum post... works well.

I like using photobucket.com, it's easy to upload pics there, then use the
feature to post pics on forums.

I also use photobucket but... there's the forum's own albums connected to your account. They are really handy. And work very well to add pics to threads. Everything stays on the same website which helps to prevent pics becoming inaccessible in the future.

Hi, I guess I´ve got a very similar stingray. Serial: B 022592, red finished, maple fingerboard. However mine was built around the 60s. I am also trying to find out what it´s worth.

Oh sorry I mixed that up ;-)

You´re right, it was built around 1980. It´s my dad´s bass and he bought it that time.

As a rule the Music Mans Made from 1980 til 1984 we're not the most desired, 1976 to 1979 we're the ones to get, But I see the 80's ones go for anywhere from $1100 to $1800 or whatever you can get someone to pay for one. They are good playing basses tho, I've had a few at 1 time.
