Pros -

More thump
Warmer tone
No clackety clack
No string noise
Sound great with just about any style of music
Easy on the fingers
Last forever (literally) - so cost less in the long run

Cons -

Most brands of flats have higher tension than equivalent gauge roundwounds
Probably not the ideal tone for metal or punk

Thanks AussieMark,
Looks like I'll be heading to the local guitar store tomorrow to buy and try(EB's of course:D), the pro's sound great and seem to outweigh the con's.
If I don't like them I can always put roundwounds on again.
Cheers!
