New forum member here. First post. A brief history first. I was a long time PRS player, having owned several and also had a couple of other custom shop instruments. Add a Mesa Mark V on top of that. So I figured since I wasn't playing very much anymore that I'd sell off the PRS collection and the other guitars, plus the Mark V as well. I was determined to get down to one guitar and one small amp. After selling all of that stuff off in stages, I bought a little Blackstar HT5 (amazing amp btw) and sought out a "budget conscious" guitar to pair with it. I've occasionally looked at the JP series but ultimately always passed them up for another PRS in the end. When I saw a no frills basic no nothing JP6 in pearl redburst being sold at just over dealer cost, I jumped right on it. It was online so I was taking a chance. I don't regret it. It's simply the easiest playing guitar I've ever set my hands on....and I've had my hands on a lot of boutique instruments over the years. It's also the best sounding basswood guitar I've ever heard. It sustains as well as mahogany and has a nice snap that my former guitars lacked to a degree. I'm amazed at how articulate it is and how the notes seem to jump out of it. The PRS I just sold off would sound almost dead in comparison. So, great job MM! If I ever want an expensive guitar again, I think I'll be looking at a BFR!
