New to the flock! A few (long) questions...

Hi everyone, just bought (more than likely) a beautful cherryburst Axis.
Walked into my local music store Saturday and saw it. Being that it's used, I was able to rent it for a month to try with my rig with the option to buy (the more than likely part!)
I was at work today craving that neck, seriously...
I have a home made guitar with an unfinished Carvin neck and up untill Sat, I thought it was the ultimate. Man, I'm really loving this guitar. The action was a bit high off the shelf but a small tweak to the trussrod fixed that.

I know I'm falling for this guitar because I already feel guilty for my other guitars, I'm sure most of you know the feeling.

I just have a couple of questions:

It looks like the high E (the 1st, or the .009 one ) side of the tremolo is about 1mm higher away from the body than the bass side. If you hold the guitar like a violin and sight down it you can see it. Is this normal because of tension etc.? I do notice that the high E is higher of the fretboard than the low E. This is my first tremolo guitar in almost 15 years so there aren't any saddle screws to adjust haha.

The Temolo. Everyone here calls it a Floyd, mine says High Stability Tremolo System. This is an EBMM proprietary trem right? The Axis comes only with this trem, right? Or did certain newer model Axis have a Floyd?

That's about it, I'm actually already thinking about an Axis Super Sport with stop tail and P 90's to replace the LP (damn, that hurts).

I'd say to call customer service to ask about the difference in height. They'll tell you what to do.

There are basically 2 different Axis families of guitars. The first started life as the EVH and later became the Axis. These all have floyd style trems. The second family are the sport and later super sport. These are either hard tail or "vintage" trem made by musicman.

If you want to replace an LP.....maybe look at the gold roller....which we've just been told will be mahogony. (or maybe don't look at it.......these things are addictive)

Seriously, all this talk about people calling, speaking to a REAL person, and the luthiers that actually hang out here and answer questions will be a big part of me deciding to purchase (aw man it's a given, I can't part with this beauty now, I've played more in the last 2 days than I have all month!).

Well, I started off with a Silo a while back, then I got a Sub1, then another one, and another one. Then I got an Al because I read posts here where forumites were raving about the Als goodness.. ( I had previously given up on $trats altogether unless it was a vintage MIJ Squire, and those are hard to come by) And the other day I bought another Albert Lee, a bonafide $trat killer. I love em.

So when we say EBMM guitars and basses are addictive, it's best to believe it.

Oh, I fixed the wonky treble side of the trem being about 1mm higher off the body than the bass side.
I just lowered the treble side trem post, beautifully equal low action now...
