Hi everyone, just bought (more than likely) a beautful cherryburst Axis.
Walked into my local music store Saturday and saw it. Being that it's used, I was able to rent it for a month to try with my rig with the option to buy (the more than likely part!)
I was at work today craving that neck, seriously...
I have a home made guitar with an unfinished Carvin neck and up untill Sat, I thought it was the ultimate. Man, I'm really loving this guitar. The action was a bit high off the shelf but a small tweak to the trussrod fixed that.
I know I'm falling for this guitar because I already feel guilty for my other guitars, I'm sure most of you know the feeling.
I just have a couple of questions:
It looks like the high E (the 1st, or the .009 one
) side of the tremolo is about 1mm higher away from the body than the bass side. If you hold the guitar like a violin and sight down it you can see it. Is this normal because of tension etc.? I do notice that the high E is higher of the fretboard than the low E. This is my first tremolo guitar in almost 15 years so there aren't any saddle screws to adjust haha.
The Temolo. Everyone here calls it a Floyd, mine says High Stability Tremolo System. This is an EBMM proprietary trem right? The Axis comes only with this trem, right? Or did certain newer model Axis have a Floyd?
That's about it, I'm actually already thinking about an Axis Super Sport with stop tail and P 90's to replace the LP (damn, that hurts).
Thanks!!
