What a nice place...
Not lika many other forums. Great!!!
I have a little question regarding the Musicman Axis with solid rosewood
neck! Are they heavier than the regular axis? (Neck heavy)
The rosewood axis sure looks great.
Have a nice day
;)

Well, looking at the link posted by gwdavis isn't really very illuminating - at least, I can't glean any clear answer to the posted question from it - so I'll try the direct approach and simply say "No, the Rosewood Axis is not neck heavy - they're a very well balanced instrument." I've only played one of them, mind, but consistency is one of EBMM's great fortés... And welcome to the forum! :)

I can't say for sure from the post, but maybe when you say 'neck heavy' you just mean that it's heavy hanging on your neck by the strap?

Pete DuBaldo has one or two Rosewood Axes in stock, and some 'normal' ones too.

Pete, can you do a side-by-side and tell us if the rosewood feels heavier than the normal Axis?

Oh, and welcome to the forum, schon!

Great handle.. I love Neil Schon's playing (if he's what your handle implies), he's very soulful and melodic.

WELCOME !!!!!

mabey if the rosewood neck was on a basswood/maple cap body ....... MAYBEY it would end up a little neck heavy.......but its only used w/ a rosewood body......so it's typically gonna naturally balance out.......

Hey BP,

Does that mean you have tried putting solid rosewood necks on non-rosewood Axis bodies?

My absolute dream guitar would be a 2 humbucker ash bodied axis with solid rosewood neck (and piezo for extra style!)

Any chance of this happening? Pretty please......

Hahaha. Hey! I'm Swedish, too! (well, 1/8 Swedish)

We have to keep that 1/8 under constant surveillance, though..

Hey, If you're Swedish, maybe EB should sell you an Axis that you assemble yourself with an allen key and a Phillips screwdriver-that'll teach ya! ;)

Welcom Schon! I think you'll like it here. The guitars are pretty cool too. ;)

Given that you are a Schon fan, I'm surprised you're not over looking at his new REALLY expensive G*bson monster! It may be nice, but the EB's are hard to beat - and the customer service is second to none!
