Hi everyone!
Well, I can't seem to join a forum without feeling the need to post a thread, so here it is.. great forum here! I just picked up a new Black Cherry Burst Stingray HH this week for a smokin' deal at a local music store after wanting to try one out for years. This one sat in another store for a few years that eventually went out of business and ended up in the store i picked it up at... The DOB of the bass was in 06 so obviously it had sat languishing for a long time unsold... Anyhoo to make a long story short, I got it for a great price with a G&G hardshell case included and I have to say I'm loving it. I've been playing for 35 years and have pretty much played Fenders over the length of my career, the latest being a drop tuned Jaguar and mostly blues music but of course many other styles from Trad country to hard rock and I've always been somewhat of a meat and potatoes type of player where a good solid groove is king... I play through an Ampeg (of course) SVT Pro 3 into an SWR Triad cab and although it wouldn't be a surprise to everyone here, my new Stingray sounds absolutely killer through it and its definitely something I should have picked up long ago...Funny how that works but maybe I just had to wait for the right one to come along
Okay, that's my introduction, thanks for having such a good and informative forum and for building an instrument that can get this old dog excited. There's definitely a happier bass player on the left coast of Canada (Vancouver B.C.) who's loving his new Stingray!
