Hello! Was wondering if I could get some advice... I found a Musicman Sabre Bass for sale at a price of $900 with a hardshell case.
I'm told by the seller that the bass belonged to a family member who has recently passed. This bass has a serial number on the
back plate of E22554.. When I checked it comes up as follows:
Manufactured April 26th, 2001 Build Code 150-53-20-01-CS-CR Model StingRay5 H Color Translucent Gold Neck Maple Neck Rosewood Fretboard Pickguard Black Pickguard Sr5 H Hardware Chrome

As you can see by the pics from the ad, the bass is green with a rosewood board and matching headstock..... Not even close to what the serial number lookup is giving me.
Seller stated it was owned since new.

Seller sounds pretty honest saying feel free to come over and check it out.

Please see pics

Wrong bridge, the neck plate is attached backwards, and the PG has too few screw holes. Run, dont walk.
