:p Hello everybody,

I`m new to this forum and I hope someone can give me some advices to get the right MM guitar. I have a few nice PRS guitars and a fantastic Diezel amp, but at the local musicstore I had the chance to play a MM axis and this axe blew me away. This guitar, especially the neck was so fantastic, that I decided to get one. Unfortunately there was just the axis modell in stock and not the silhouette and the Luke, which I would prefer (SSH). So, I would like the feeling and dimension of the axis neck and the sound of a SC/SC/HB guitar. How different are the necks and what modell gives me a true stratty sound in the neck and middle position? Would you chose the Luke modell and put out the active emgs ?

would be great to get some answers

Thanks

Hi Greg,

no, I had no chance to play it, because the silhouette and the luke were not in stock at the local musicstore. Just the axis model. The axis was so cool!!! But I want a HSS setup.

Thanks

P.S.

Is there a difference between the axis neck and the silhouette neck/Luke neck? Which one comes next?

Did anyone change the Luke EMGs and replace it with passive PUs

Thanks a lot

All three necks are different. The Silo Special is closer to the Axis than the Luke.

I have seen/ heard a few Lukes with passive pickups. Because of its alder body, the 60's strat vibe is there. Very nice.

Thanks,
Greg

Walter,
I have a Luke...and I've played a few different axis' before. The most recent Axis I played was a Super Sport model with 2 MM-90s and a hardtail...freaking smoking axe. At any rate, the neck profile on the axis was a sort of C shape, whereas the Luke is a V profile. The Luke is a badass axe...perhaps the EMG 85 in the bridge isn't my fav, but the single coils are great for the strat vibe, with a little added oomph. I believe the singles are a little fatter, but you can roll off the volume a little bit and they cool down. If you have any more questions, send away man, be glad to help.

Sincerely,
Jeff Tomaselli
