Hi

I have one ball.... but enought about that.

If I were to order another one new - how do I go about it - can I just walk into a dealer in the UK and ask for spec X and get a price ?

Does this then come through as a custom order to the US ?

Can I have one like Nigel Tufnell's one ? AL with the flames and spedo..

You can go to an authorized dealer and select what you want with the options available at this time. An example could be like this...

Axis with upgraded quilt top
Tobacco burst
MM90's
Matching Headstock
Hardtail

The Nigel guitar, also known as Mr. Horsepower is NOT available. There were 25 (correct me if I am wrong) made and were auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Casey Lee Ball Foundation. I believe #1 was given to Casey, but was stolen, so be on the look out for it....for Big Poppa is looking for it and would like to have it back for his son.

I believe a few members here have one. I know for a fact my bro DaveB has one....I played it. He got it at the Open House last year where it was delivered. It is a fabulous axe and one that I would love to have. Keep an eye on e-bay....that is where they show up, but not often I must say.

Hope this helps.

What do you play and how do you play it. With a little info we can steer you in the appropriate direction.

My first suggestion would always be the Albert Lee - best under-the-radar guitar in the known world. Playability, comfort, unique styling, and if you run through some old posts you'll find it is the guitar that everyone says.....

.....you know I never really thought about the A L and then I played one and now its going to be my next ball.

But, if your only playing down tuned metal, it probably wouldn't be the best choice for you.

We all have our favorites - The AL is mine

Yeah, good point,

Ernie Ball Musicman Axis
Gibson Les Paul Classic
Gibson Les Paul Custom 1984
Gibson Les Paul Standard Quilted top
Wolf EVH (Local guitar builder in Edinburgh)
PRS Eg3 1991 (US model)
Fender USA Strat
Fender Mexican Strat
Fender Heartfiled Talon III (Japan)
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
Marshall VS102r & Marshall 4x12 Cab

And a few pedals.....

I play a lot of blues & Rock, looking for something to compliment what I have with a nice top to dazzle by mates!!!!!

The axis is nice but having problems (see is my axis neck bad thread!!!) - all advice welcome
I'm a newbie to EB and this forum - I wish i had discovered it years ago...

Well, the 20th anniv. Silo is dazzling as well as the Steve Morse Y2D. Can't go wrong with either one. But, the 20th is only being made for a short time so I am told. Both would suit your playing style very well. If you haven't done so, listen to Steve Morse....he covers all genre's of music with his model......who am I to argue with that?

Phone up strings and things in the UK - they are the EB distributors. Their number is on the Ernie Ball homepage. S & T will tell you where your nearest dealer is.
Next visit your dealer as he should have a few EB's in stock and try them.
I went for an Albert Lee and I can vouch for what MBGrene says.
It's a lovely guitar to play and is fabulous for the blues.
Take your amp with you if you can and hope your dealer has a sound proof room.
Crank it up, move some air and ......... place yer order!

I have to third what others have said about the AL - fanfrickintastic! That's why I have one on order now! Plus - it is the guitar (shape, anyway) that Mr. Horsepower is made from! You should also see the Gold Sparkle AL with Seth Lovers that Blues Saraceno has - oh momma! That pic is in another thread here somewhere.

If you truly want a Mr. Horsepower - you're going to have to sell everything you currently have to afford one, methinks. And for the love of all that is holy, unload those G!b$0ns as quickly as you can. Your back and hands will thank you for it.

Oh - and welcome to the addiction!!!

Dangnabbit!!! What am I up to Koogs - about a quarter yet? Let me know when I hit a buck and I'll send it to you.

Mr Horsepower aint leaving anytime soon.

But thanks for the offer Koogs :)

I think there are only 2 in the UK - the other one is owned by the boss of Strings and Things and regularly gets displayed at Music Live and the London Guitar Show.
