Forgive me for asking such a simple question, but can someone tell me what are the functions for each of the knobs on the bongo?

Thanks

Just watch how you use them... a little of each band will go a long way when used properly... Bongos have been known to level small cities when the eq knobs are turned all the way up.

Thanks to everyone for the input. I just bought my bongo today and I am having fun playing with the different tones.

I know your query is already answered, but in addition to "welcome" I'd like to point out that you asked a very legitimate [not dumb] question. When I first met a Bongo, 3 gearheads all [mistakenly] agreed that on any 4-knob EQ system, the knobs must be bass, treble, midrange and midrange frequency center sweep. We all easily found that the stacked pair further from the bridge were the midrange EQ but we couldn't figure by ear which was the center sweep and which was the cut-boost.

It sounded great, so I bought it and even at home I couldn't solve the puzzle. If you don't already know that it has a 4-band EQ, it's a puzzle, cuz who would expect a bass with 4 bands onboard? I had to check the specifications online before I came to realize what it really has.

Here is the picture. Can someone tell me what color this is? I was looking at the sticky and believe that it is Desert Gold, but I am not sure. Also, I am trying to get some suggestions on a new pickguard that would work well with this color.

Thanks

Very nice! Looks to be Lava Pearl but Dargin would be able to give you an exact colour once he get's his little mitts on the S/N.

That's a real neat bass right there!
Now you already know it's lava pearl, and for reference the left bass in my avatar is Desert Gold.

A white pearl pick guard would be nice. Or a tort. or a python, maybe.
