Hello all,
My name is Bob. I've been lurking here for a while.

I have been having a case of G.A.S. that has been growing for a Petrucci with piezo.

Tonite I took the plunge!!!

I ordered a Mystic Dream with piezo from GC. It was a blem. Actually it was the only color they had with the piezo. It's all good though cos since it's a blem it had over $300 knocked off. AND, it had a %10 off code as well.

I got it for $1865 but after it was all said and done it was just under $2000 b/c I live in Indiana which means they charge tax (even on online purchases:mad:) It sucks but what are you gonna do?

So it's a waiting game now.......

At first I was worried about it being a blem, but I figured it couldn't be because of any manufacturing flaws - It is a Music Man after all- lol. So, hopefully it will just be messed up packaging or a gently tried out return.

I can't really go wrong. I can always return it if I don't like it's "blem".

I love the flip flop paint on it. I hope it comes in the next 5 days. I have ordered from MF before and it usually takes less than 5 days. Maybe it will be the same timeframe for GC. I hope, I hope, I hope........

I don't have a pic except an online pic of someone else's on this forum. Sorry for using your pic. I figure you won't mind my showing yours off some more - lol

It's about 1/3 of the way down the page
http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-guitars/1654-official-pics-o-my-guitar-thread-136.html.

If anyone here has one please feel free to feed my G.A.S. by posting yours for me. I'll be forever grateful - lol.

I like it here on you forum. Everyone seems really good natured, unlike some cork-sniffing forums I've tried.

Bob

Thanks,

I can't wait. If I like it and keep it, I ll have to sell off a couple haha.

Never had a piezo equipped guitar before. I like though, that you can blend it with the other pups.

Bob,

Congrats. The piezo on my JP continues to impress me, even after 4 years of playing it.

Where in Indiana are you? I did my Ph.D. in Bloomington. I loved that town.

After buying my first EBMM earlier this year... i ended up selling off all of my other guitars... bought a second EBMM... and i have no need for anything else other than my acoustic from time to time. After playing for some 15 years i finally found something that just fits me perfectly... I'm willing to be your guitars go up for sale within days of you getting the JP... just a guess but i'm pretty sure i'm right :D

And that's just one option :D

You could also split the piezo and magnetic outputs and send them to different amps. This is what I do. It's also what JP does, though he sends the piezo to a DI box instead of an amp.

Yeah, I'm down near the toe of the boot - Evansville. Never been to Bloomington, but I hear it's a partying town:D

Are you saying that with this setup you can have one amp for distortion and the next second be playing through an entirely different amp on clean with the Piezo - all at the flick of a switch? Amazing!

I think I'm going to like this guitar.;)

I only hope it isn't a Blem because someone dropped it or something like that:eek:

That's a tall order - we'll see. Right now I have 3 Deluxe American Strats, 3 Gibbys - 2 of which are Robots:D. One of those is the Explorer model. Let's see.......2 Kramers, 1 Jackson, 1 Charvel, a Peavey Limited (precursor to the HP line) and a few other lower line stuff.

The one Deluxe Strat is a 2004 50th anniversary that is dead mint and bone stock. It's got the lowest action of any of my guitars. But you know how some guitars you just can't seem to bond with? This is it. It's flawless with 3 tone burst and a maple board - my dream Strat. I just don't like it. So, If I decide to keep the JP I'll be letting that one go.

I've sold off a lot of guitars over the years that, if I had kept them would have increased in value some. Some of which I wish I still had. But I'm about playing them, not putting them up on a shelf or hiding them away in a case somewhere - lol

You may be right though. I may just have to sell off everything to get more MM guitars:D

Here's to hoping it's a minor blemish :D

Seriously though, 300$ for probably one or two scratches/dents in the side of the body or whatever. Who cares :p Sure, it's annoying, but you really won't care after a while. Hey, they might even be on the back!

That's exactly what I'm saying :D You can even have high-gain and piezo on at the same time.

Yeah... i had my dream guitar as well... (run down i had about 14 Strats) some of the likes of EC and some really vintage stuff. I had a 1960's surf green strat that was my dream guitar for about as long as i could remember... some custom one offs that i had made to what i thought were great specs... i don't have a single one left... i say this... sell what ya won't regret selling. I can't think of a single strat that i would want back... LOL!!!

Just hope it isn't major as I see now they are sold out of 'em:(

At least I had my name on one before they were gone:).
