I'll do a write up about the story on this one after the pics! Did this cover with my friend Tyler on here a couple of days ago, really proud of the video, so I hope you enjoy it!

So recently Guitar Center had a superb sale on Musicman instruments, and I had always wanted to customize my own JP and get certain woods and a specific configuration. Before this I had a JP6 PDN from the Honey Roasted Run in 2012, and since the Honey Burst and Solar Burst finishes are similar I decided to go take my PDN to a local guitar center to compare. After seeing it in person and enjoying the compatibility with the color, I gave Guitar Center a call and tracked a BFR Solar Burst down!
Found it for a fantastic price and sealed the deal, the original picture I received was terribly sub par and did the guitar no justice. I'll post it up once I find it. And in person the guitar looks great, the top and finish are incredibly well done! Pleasant surprise to find once it arrived and I opened the case for the first time!
So it's clearly not stock
What I did was I swapped necks between the PDN and the BFR, and it was honestly a bit of a gamble. When you do research on the topic there is barely any information on wether or not the necks will fit. But truth is, JP6 and JP BFR Necks ARE interchangeable but the problem with the BFR is that it has a gloss on the neck that actually makes the neck slightly thicker than the neck pocket on a standard JP6 Body. The unfinished neck of the roasted maple was a pretty tight fit on the BFR and PDN Standard Body. I had my tech sand down the BFR neck where it would get inserted into the neck pocket. After a bit of sanding it fit just perfectly and resulted in a great sounding All Mahogany JP6.
The BFR with the Roasted Neck sounds very nice and has an increase in clarity and definition for notes. The Pau Ferro is gorgeous as well and really compliments the color of the Finish and Roasted Neck. The Mahogany JP6 sounded super beefy and huge, felt like a Les Paul with more of a shredder twist to it.
Overall a mod I'm VERY happy with, and I'm very glad I did it! The Alder Body/Mahogany Tone Block/Maple Neck and Top/Pau Ferro Fretboard results in a very full sounding guitar.
