To be truthful, I actually received this guitar on Monday but i wanted to live with the Cutlass for a few days before I shared this "review".

From the moment the good folks at EBMM introduced the Cutlass, I knew it was my next guitar purchase. Hook, line & sinker! So I can say that my expectations were high & the guitar blows them out of the water! Wow! Well done, EBMM! The guitar is simple yet eloquent. I think "modern classic" is a perfect moniker.

Since I'm not the best at writing reviews, I'm just going to point out features that jump out at me after a few days of living with this guitar;

The neck- bulkier than I expected but is really comfortable & nice for bending. Love the stainless steel frets.
The pups-OMG, these are a knock out! Every position is so tuneful.
The trem system-smooth as silk.

For me, I've always felt that EBMM guitars were built as workhorse's. Well, workhorses that happen to be daring & eye fetching. Where usefulness & functionality came first, instruments meant to be played. A instrument that weekend warriors like me have a guitar that I can rely on & is built like a tank. This is that guitar! Perfect!!

I have on question, is the buffered output jack meant to be stiff? Any other Cutlass owners know what I mean? Has anyone else experienced this?

The output jack aside, this guitar is a home run! Thank you EBMM!

I love mine too! I was really debating picking up one in white like yours but I'm going to hold off and see if EBMM expands the line in 2017. I wish a dealer in my area would bring in the Sterling line so I could compare them.

Congrats - love mine as well. I will check the input jack on mine and post back but I think it is stiff because it activates the battery

I was really so close to getting the vintage sunburst but I wanted to get a maple neck! I'm in the same boat as you, going to wait out & see what offered for the cutlass for 2017.

Thanks Mikeller!
I thought it may have been related to buffered input. It really surprised me the first time I plugged it in. I was afraid I going to bugger my new guitar!

Yeah - I can confirm it takes a good push to get the cable plugged in!!

That's the one I want. Problem is that it's in "sacramento" which means a long drive down the crappy freeways, in 90-100 degree heat, through really terrible neighborhoods and horrible lights that always turn red just before you get to them, to get there and not really know if they guitar is overly "GC'ized" !

But still want.
