Hi guys,

Sorry this has taken so long to post but I've been a little ill the last couple of weeks, just getting back into the swing of things. I finally received my Cutlass RS in charcoal frost. Excellent guitar I'm really liking it at the moment. Sounds great and the neck is so comfortable and looks awesome with the flame on it.

I've added some perloid tuner buttons as I thought they suited the guitar better then the chrome ones.

Hope you all like.

Enjoy!
Paul

Ge that piece of junk out of here!.
JK. I love the charcoal first and would have gone with the color myself, if it was not for the tortoise PG and RW fret board. The neck looks great!

You lucked-out on that neck! With the RS it's a crapshoot as to whether you'll get a beautiful or bland roasted neck.

Thanks for the comments fellas. Funny story actually, I had an SSS config on order originally and when it turned up there was some damage caused to the guitar in transit. The neck on that was pretty plain with no flame at all. So I ended up going with the HSS because of that. I wouldn't of accepted the plain neck anyway so it worked out for me in the end.

Lucky guy eh..!! =D

It's such a shame that some people are unlucky when it comes to maple tops and figured necks. It feels there is an injustice in that.

I'm actually surprised to hear this. Mine and all the other RSs that I have seen (admittedly only a few) all have had the wonderful "3d" multilayer flame to them.

It is luck of the draw and there are a few plain ones out there. Mine has a bit of birds eye here and there and a little flame in places but nothing that will blow your socks off. While I'm a little bit disappointed it of course makes no difference to playability or actually making music and I actually appreciate not being distracted by amazing figuring. I really do think I get more playing time in, rather than just staring at the neck! :D

There are a lot of plain ones out there Dr. Kev, not just a few. Whereas for example, when it comes to PRS guitars there are only top notch figured pieces. Why be distracted..? You would be even more inspired to play and create =) And after all, after your daily practice schedule, isn't it an awesome luxury hanging your guitar on the wall and stare a thing of exquisite beauty? Just like a lot of lucky fellows do.
