Just got my new JP7 non piezo PDN from Jason at Drum City Guitarland. First of all, what a classy place to do business. Best place to buy gear, especially EBMM. They really treat folks right and I will continue to send folks there...check out their PDN inventory. Basses and guitars.
This PDN offering spoke to me on several levels. No sig inlays, oiled roasted neck, the board, the newer trem, ss frets, and mainly the one piece mahog body. I have other loaded 7's, but the thing I was after was seeing how a one pc mahog body sounded without tone wood top, blocks, or the large cutout for the piezo electronics. It absolutely sounds fantastic. The guitar weighs more than a straight basswood body for sure. Typical EBMM clarity and definition, but much fuller and it has more richness than any other version of the 7 I own or have owned. I am so happy this version came out I cannot tell you. I love that older school tone and am not into the super razor blade tight djenty stuff of today...nothing against it but I go in a different direction. Great job everyone at EBMM! THANK YOU!
I will have a more detailed write up soon and my first rehearsal is tonight. I am playing straight through a Roccaforte and it absolutely slays. Clips to follow. Here are a few crappy cell phone pics so we don't need the cowbell.

First of all; Congratulations! It looks completely amazing :)
And secondly; You mentioned you didn't find this guitar very suited for djenty stuff. What guitar would you say, from the JP-line(non-BFR or BFR), is suited for that type of music?

Tanax, it can do djenty but the PDN guitar is throaty compared to the JPXI...at least for me. With bkp blackdogs in the JPXI, large wattage speakers to stop speaker breakup, and max gain I found I had as much clear djent as one could have. The JPXI is fantastic and the pickups are great, but super tight high gain requires medium output midrange pickups for clarity and definition. For djent i really like the JPXI best of all....but you can get djent with anything if you know the limits of each pc of gear.
And in summary, this PDN offering is simply fantastic for my needs. The tone is superb for what I do.
