NGD! Luke 2 HSS Luke Blue

The very pretty Luke 3 that JasonT was selling is the “one that got away” lol but then this Luke 2 popped up at my local guitar shop. I finally had the opportunity to play a Luke and thought it would be for my own edification alone as I continued the search for a nice used one, on the assumption that I’d hate the EMGs.

I did not hate the EMGs.

Traded one of two strats plus some cash. I’m really happy with it! It’s barely been played ( I had to replace the 9V, I think it might have been the original with an exp date of 2008) and needs a fret polishing and new strings. Gorgomyte will be here Tuesday and I have 9s waiting to be strung.

Also the piezo bridge; another feature I thought I was going to disdain as cheesy but it sounds good. Apparently this guitar was purchased by a collector who rarely played any of them and sold this to the store along with 10 other guitars he was unloading. If so I’m optimistic the saddles still have some mileage in them before they need to be retrofitted with the newer versions (or just let it go and use the extra toggle to wire up an Add Neck circuit)

In retrospect that all rosewood L3 of yours was a no-brainer but I just didn’t know, and had never touched an L before. Heck I’ve only barely touched any EBMM. So yea. Now that I know, I know what missed there
