Hi everyone - first post here. I have WAY too many guitars, but I have to say that my newest is one of my favorites EVER:
I almost pulled the trigger on a Luke III several times over the past two years...when I saw this one with the epic boat-wake quilt I knew it was all she wrote. I guess I don't have to tell y'all that she sounds as good as she looks, maybe better. The attention to detail from both an artistic and playability perspective on this instrument blows me away - it can stand tall with any of the amazing instruments in my collection. It's more modern-sounding (in a good way) than my Strats and Super-strats. Balance between the pickups is perfect, and although I vowed never to own a guitar with a battery, I am in love with the push-push boost. And the neck is SICK. Best HSS guitar I have ever played, hands-down!
I was so impressed that I picked up a Black Metallic LK100D as well (no pics yet, sorry) which is equally impressive for the price. I am digging the tones from the Transition Neck pickup - I lately have been gravitating toward HSS setups, but these Transitions are simultaneously warm and round, yet clear. Still playing around with the volume drop on 2 & 4, but with a clean boost I can work around that. Usually at a guitar at this price point, you still have to add the locking tuners and swap the pickups - this puppy comes all tricked out standard.
Anyway, sorry for the long gushing post...gotta go play!
