Hey guys,

it's been quite some time since I last opened a thread (let alone a ngd related one) and just a couple of weeks ago I wouldn't have thought I might soon be posting one. I haven't been posting much here on the forums during the last weeks...months!...due to a super busy working schedule I had to pull through (and gladly survived) and barely had the time to pick up a guitar, let alone keep up with all the great new stuff EBMM has been putting out lately (the sparkle series, return of the rosewood necks etc.). So, after I finally had the time to breathe freely again, I felt like I could probably just take a quick look around to get me up to date with what's happening out there and do a little eBay routine...and happened to find a great looking Axis Super Sport at an unbelievable price (given it's age and condition). Again, I still had no intention at all to buy another guitar at that point but somehow found myself contactiong the seller to see what's up with the guitar...got an immediate response confirming the top noth, case queen condition and -almost in sleep-walking mode- hit the BIN button. I actually surprised myself with how quick the process was...!

To make a long story short, I'm the proud new owner of a great candy red Axis Super Sport! The guitar turned out to be just as mint as described - not a single scratch on it...and it just had it's first birthday a couple of days ago.

Being a singlecoil guy by heart I still can't believe how great position #2 does sound but won't go into further detail about how great that guitar really is...I'd be preaching to the choir. Funny thing how it took me years of playing Musicman before I finally tried an ASS...never put my hands on one before I bought this one.

So, here's the "red that came out of the blue"...

Guitars can do that sometimes, I've made a few impulse MM purchases in the past also..

Great guitar! Love the solid red, nice change from the transparant finishes.

The impulse buys make the rest of us feel normal (the spontaneous ones, anyway).

Looks like your neck is super flamey. Very nice!

Thanks guys, it's great to be back (though I must admit I lurked a bit here and there to roughly keep up with all the exciting new stuff) and I definitely look forward to spending more time again amongst you guys...and post a lot more, too.

Spud...you're right of course! First point that drew my attention was the color, quite refreshing seeing a solid colored Axis...but the neck really is out of this world. Definitely no buyer's remorse with the impulse buy on that one...:)
