Texas Finally!
Well this is an unexpected NGD. I ordered this guitar from the Vault, first time doing so. When I ordered it it had a 4 month+ lead time. I expected it to be shipped to my new house in Texas but since my new house has experienced significant building delays I reached out to EBMM to state that I may need to change shipping addresses and to let me know a couple weeks before so I could figure out where to ship it.

So I reached out to EBMM ( AJ is the man ) and he came back saying shipping was imminent, so only a two month build time. I told them to ship to my current address since I was not back in Texas yet.

At this point guitar shipped but I noticed the shipping address was still Texas so reached back out to get it rerouted. After a few days it arrived. After letting it get to room temperature I opened the case and was like wow very cool color but something seemed off to me. I looked at it for a few minutes and realized it did not have a matching headstock.

These are supposed to have matching headstocks and are only available through e Vault. I reached back out to EBMM to inquire if it should have a matching headstock and they said yes and gave me my options. I decided to keep it as is and well it may be a one off without the matching headstock though this is the first one I have seen anywhere.

OK enough story, NGD Snowy Night Silhouette Special now a few pics

Awesome! Personally I like it better without the matching headstock, so that's a score in my book :)
Thanks Beej and agree like it better without the matching headstock which is why I decided to keep it as is.

My rule on matching headstock is , rosewood, ebony etc, have a matching headstock, maple no match :)

Beautiful guitar, and neat that it's unique by virtue of a mistake!

I love matching headstocks in general. But if the neck is solid rosewood (like my Sabre), then no matching.

Keith welcome to the Silo Special club, love it man, and I think it rocks with the non-matching head stock. Great story!!!

Congrats. Glenn |B)

Very nice! Congrats Keith.
I'm in the natty headstock preference camp as well.
I am assuming that makes it more rare if it's suppose to be matching.

Very nice; congrats!! I agree - I think that maple board necks look better without the matching headstock, so that was a "happy accident".(y)

Nice. I love the snowy night finish. My snowy Silo (non-special) is matching. I wanted to not like your non-matching (because my rule is "always matching if they'll make it), but that looks awesome. Congrats, Keith!

Thanks, I too thought about sending it back but the more I looked at it the more I liked it, plus the fact it may be a one off :)

OK well definitely like this guitar , glad I am getting comfortable with an SS this time.

Once I get back to Texas, eventually, it will get a little cosmetic makeover, new PG and new knobs
