NGD today JP6 (Now with pics)

Hi All;

Well, I got my guitar today, a used (but like new) JP6. It's loaded (shields, piezo, matching headstock), and one of the coolest finishes I have ever seen (the Mystic Dream Finish). It is impressive. I do have to take it to my tech for a setup, just to get it dialed in perfectly for me, but as it sits, it is really nice. I love the piezo, love the vibrato bar, the pickups are OK (I think they are the older ones; I was told the guitar is an '07). Once I tweaked my amp to suit the guitar a little bit, it was killer sounding. It plays nicely, I immediately loved the neck, although the wider/flatter feeling fingerboard is going to take a little getting used to. I think it is very well designed, very well constructed, and I am happy with the purchase.:D

Thanks to Pete at DuBaldos for a good deal.

Pictures coming this weekend (sorry, wife has the camera tonight).

Thanks.

Been playing the JP6 constantly since its arrival. Bonding to the neck in a big way. Fun to play, although I need to do a setup still (coming later in the week). Once this thing is dialed in to my likes, it is going to be flat out unbelievable. I am very impressed with it, and now I am clamoring for a BFR, LOL. Someday.

BTW, I was watching the Dream Theater DVD for systematic chaos last night, and JP was playing a JP6 that I have never seen before. It had pickup rings and a bound neck; very nice looking. Was that a one off or were they available like that at any point?

I swear, pictures are coming. I have to get the camera back from the wife.

OK, I finally took some pictures. Unfortunately, I was only able to capture the green color, and none of the purple (which is funny, considering in person I see the purple much more often). The guitar is really a nice instrument, and I am really bonding to it. Sounds killer through the Mark 5 too.

BTW, how do I determine the age of the guitar? Is there a place to post to find out the date built?

Nice pics! I see some purple on the bottom. I'm guessing a pic without the flash would show us the purple as opposed to the green, but either way, nice JP6!

Thanks. Posted the serial number a couple of days ago, and got an e-mail from customer service right away. Made in September of 07.
