This guitar is awesome. It reminds me of my 1964 ES 335 which I regretfully had to sell, and my partscaster mahogany Tele. Absolutely love it! But 11's? Oh well, easy fix. And that red metal flake. Nice job James & EBMM!
I put 10's on too, will probably go to 9's but I gigged it tonight & the 10's weren't bad. Definitely have to re-eq some of my patches (me-80) but it was a joy to play and it seemed like it wanted me to play it harder. Odd, I know but it felt like it have taken whatever I could have dished out. Unfortunately it was a steamy night in NJ and after 3 sets I was running out of gas. Great guitar.
No, I had to sell them. Short story - divorce. But the collection is growing. Gigged with my Valentine tonight. Easy gig 50's/60's/some country. Ran it through my Quilter 101 & a Red Fang loaded 1 x 12. OMG, the clarity of the neck pickup is amazing and the bridge pickup was bright without being piercing. Nice jangle & tight country lines. Tried V30 last week, too bright (and it's over 20 years old!). Next up is Eminence 1258 for the Fender sound.
Needless to say, the Valentine performed flawlessly tonight. Into Boss ME-80 (cover band, need different delays, verbs, etc. Then into Quilter Mini 101 and a Mesa 1x12 with legend 1258. Sounded like a little twin. Anyone else dig Quilters?
