It's NGD at Chateau Porkleone... There's a new StingRay in a box over in the corner, but it's covered with stickers saying to wait 24 hrs before unveiling. Since this is not a nitro finish, how long do I really need to wait (or not) to open this baby?

Vintage turquoise RS. I've been looking at these for a while, and finally pulled the trigger. This checks a couple of boxes for me:
* My first-ever HH guitar
* My first honest to goodness MM - I've had a Sterling for several years now, and have done a couple of upgrades, but now I'm finally in the club.

To (sort of) quote Mr White from That Thing You Do: I can join all the other stars of the MusicMan galaxy.

OK. I couldn't wait. I had to unleash the beast.

Oh. My. God.

First of all, the roasted neck is sick. I told myself if I got one with a roasted neck, that I would wait until I found one like this. The online pics from Sweetwater did not come close to capturing the figuring. It's super dark too. I can't take a picture that does it justice. It's stunning. I'm stunned. Just consider me stunned.

It's so much more than I hoped it would be. I wasn't even sure which color to get. When the missus saw the turquoise, she said "that's the one." So I thought about it for a couple of weeks. When I bought it, my hand actually froze over the "purchase" button. She said "C'mon! What are you waiting for? Get it!" I changed/upgraded jobs a couple of months ago, and this was sort of a present for myself - which as you other dads can attest to, we rarely get these kinds of things.

There's no way I can plug it in tonight. I'll never go to bed, or go to work in the morning. But tomorrow night, we'll open a new bottle of bourbon, and have a play for a few hours. I can't wait.

Moot point now, but I usually wait at least 3-4 hours...I try for 5-6 if I can take it. :)

Congrats! Can't wait to see pics!

Also, I hope the bourbon is something like Blanton's as a reward for waiting to open it. :)

Sorry for the delay guys. Here's my new baby.

The bourbon of choice tonight will be Woodford Reserve, since that's all I have. Surely the MIL and the daughter will provide additional bottles for Xmas. :)

Gorgeous axe! Congrats again!

Woodford is my go to. It's never a bad choice. :)

It's my go-to as well, although Knob Creek has been neck and neck for a couple of months.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. Plugging in shortly.
