This morning, I received the guitar I rewarded myself with for making a job change and buying a new house - a St. Vincent Goldie in the Velveteen (red) finish. It arrived looking perfect, but...
Both the volume and tone knobs wobble, like the nuts securing the pots were never tightened. I don't have an amp with me right now, so I cannot plug it in to see if it sounds right. I put a call in to EBMM (after speaking with the dealer), and I left voicemail for a guitar tech. If the knobs are easy enough to pull off, I can try to pull both off and tighten the nuts, but...this is a very weird thing to make it through QC. I took the control cavity plate off and nothing was obviously wrong, other than the pots having lots of play to wiggle around, just as the knobs do (naturally).
The guitar is light, seems to be set up well, and the finish is perfect. I'm just a little worried about the pots. Here's hoping that when I finally get to plug it in this evening, it will sing.
